[Listening Party] Banks – ‘The Altar’

The first time I heard Banks was about two years ago. “Waiting Game” sent chills down my spine and once I got my hands on her debut album, Goddess, I was hooked – happy to have discovered yet another artist I can turn to whenever I need a therapy session on my bedroom floor as the music spoke everything I could never get out right.

As the singer delivers her sophomore record, The Altar, today, I want each and every one of you to put away any distractions and just listen to this record all the way through, absorbing every lyric as if it were your own personal diary. Allow yourself to feel things you’ve pushed back into the depths of your mind and if possible, grab a notebook and write down everything you’ve ever wanted to say out loud but felt you couldn’t out of fear.

This is a special one and it’s meant to be devoured mindfully. Enjoy.
