Back in 2012, I stumbled across 5vel‘s killer remix of LIGHTS’ “And Counting” on YouTube. It had all of the elements I look for in a remix and not to mention some killer trance feels. As a young budding journalist, I made it my mission to get my first interview with him, and as it turned out, I was his first interview as well. Fast-forward to the present and 5vel has been making a name for himself in the EDM world, being a featured artist on Myon & Shane 54’s “Lights” remix EP among others and should definitely be considered for the next A State of Trance mix, in my opinion. Somebody call Armin! New track, “Rain On Me,” is classic 5vel – melodic, ethereal and the perfect way to end the night with a little stargazing.
