Get Stoked About: Elliphant

Every so often an artist comes around whose style can’t be labeled and transcends multiple genres. Frankly, that artist wouldn’t want it any other way and refuses to be limited whenever it comes to an art form like music. That musical artist for 2015 is Elliphant.

I heard Swedish artist Elliphant for the first time at the end of December 2014, and since that moment, I couldn’t stop listening. After I had spent early hours of the A.M. listening to multiple songs from Elliphant, the thought came to me of, “I have no I idea how exactly to describe her sound as a whole, but that’s what I like about it.”

Every song Elliphant releases has a distinct sound, making each song a unique listening experience. As a listener, it helped me not to get bored since I could listen to multiple genres of music all from a single artist. One genre of music that Elliphant experimented with and delved into was reggae with the help of artist Ras Fraser Jr. in her song “Music is Life.”

Elliphant recently released the single “Love Me Badder” last month which shows the softer side of her sound. There is no doubt in my mind that Elliphant will make, and is already making, a massive wave in the music industry so keep a look out for her.

“Love Me Badder” is available now here.
