LA pop/rock trio, The Eiffels, have returned with new EP, You Got Me, and if they didn’t reel you in before, now’s probably the time. These guys have always nailed that massive post-80’s pop flawlessly and it’s only a matter of time before the masses take notice.
We asked frontman Sean Ulbs to give us a little break down of the three tracks off of You Got Me in this exclusive track-by-track commentary. Enjoy as you take the EP for a spin below!

“Coming to See You”
This was the first song written for the new EP and my personal favorite. We wanted to tell a story and write a song likening love to addiction. We experimented with different drum styles, and ultimately decided to go with the simple driving beat on the track now. We thought the outro needed something different, so we put together some lyrics in the studio, and added some back up vocals that were originally supposed to go on the chorus. Now it might be my favorite part of the song.
“You Got Me”
It’s a cautious love song about the rollercoaster of emotions that come with infatuation. This was the song that we probably took the most time with, and had the most fun with in the studio. Aside from the drum kit, we added concert toms to the pre-chorus and chorus that really added to the big sound we were going for.
“Now or Never”
I wrote the lyrics to this song after an inspiriting trip in Northern California with some good friends. It’s a realization that our time is short, but also a reminder that it’s never too late. We love the energy of the song and often close our live show with it.
