There is nothing better than unwinding at the end of a long and stressful day by doing something you enjoy alongside some good music. I have been escaping a hellish day by painting portraits and letting a specific song serenade me to into a relaxed bliss.
The song I’m talking about is “In A Week” by Hozier featuring Karen Cowley. This little duet has been my saviour these past few days. The song combines the simplicity of a single guitar, paired with two gorgeously matched voices into a single and beautifully pure piece. It’s a song that reminds me vaguely of The Civil Wars and their approach to music back when they first released Barton Hollow. Hozier and Cowley do just that and make a simple song like this feel perfect alongside a warm cup of chamomile tea and a rainy summer day. If you are in need of some calming music right now, this song is for you!
