[Daily Discovery] Leave The Former

Texas native, Grace Castañeda, spent three years working at an international record label in Germany, learning the ropes and not-so-highs of the industry firsthand. After discovering her distaste of the business side, Castañeda rediscovered her love for music by writing songs and playing shows around Hannover, fueling the fire back into what music should really be about. It was then that her solo project of Leave The Former was formed.

After moving back to Corpus Christi, her debut EP, Nonsense, was crafted with a little help from producer and former guitarist of Anberlin, Joseph Milligan. Capturing such a transitional period of the singer’s life, Nonsense touches on the subjects of pain, anger, sadness and frustration while being in a constant struggle of work vs. passion – something we all have dealt with at some point.

Giving off a 90’s alternative vibe – Garbage meets The Cranberries meets Alanis Morissette – Nonsense is an epic nostalgia trip through different dimensions.
