[Daily Discovery] La Bouquet

During my recent trials of industry burnout, I decided to ignore the horror story that is my inbox for a bit and do some music discovery on my own – just like I did back in the day when I had time and energy. Those were the days. During my search, I discovered LA dark-pop duo, La Bouquet. Needless to say, it was love at first listen. Oddly enough, singer Halsey tweeted about them just as I was falling in love with them.

Comprised of Bryan Sammis (who previously recorded under the name, Olivver The Kid) and Jake Lopez, the duo – who are longtime friends – decided they would rather make music together forever than go it alone. With only two infectious tracks under their belt so far – the Jimmy Eat World-esque, “Loveless,” and the chill-inducing “Loser Baby” – the band is set to mystify the indie world with their forthcoming debut, Pure Heartbreak, out soon along with their visually-pleasing floral aesthetic.
