[Daily Discovery] GEMS

I feel like I have found the holy grail of music with these gems…pun intended!

After browsing through Spotify the other day for my nightly fix of new music, I came across DC duo, GEMS – consisting of Lindsay Pitts and Cliff Usher – and let me tell you that their name definitely does them justice! I love that feeling of discovering new artists while they’re on the brink of bursting onto the scene and with the lush, scintillating soundscapes of this electronic duo, it’s only a matter of time before the world catches on too.

After falling deeply in love with their previous (short yet sweet) catalog of work, including their 2013 Medusa EP, I couldn’t control the goosebumps forming along my entire body. Think: if Broods, The xx and Mazzy Star had a musical love child in the middle of winter, this would be the result.

On October 30, GEMS will be releasing their full-length debut, Kill the One You Love via Carpark Records, featuring the gorgeous, “Living as a Ghost” and the ever-flowing, “Soak.”
