[Daily Discovery] Anna Of The North

I was in H&M last week on a quest for the perfect pair of jeans when I heard “The Dreamer” from Anna Of The North. I had to stop everything and Shazam it because if I didn’t, I knew I’d regret it as every word was seriously making me tear up right there in the fitting room. I practically fell to my knees once I discovered the title. Synchronicity at its best.

“It’s not about you anymore,” sings Anna during the chorus as gorgeous, glittering synths cascade down in a bittersweet plea for lost love re-imagined. As the bridge goes, “Please don’t take my hope away,” I’m brought right back to where I was a year ago, showing me that maybe some things really never do change.
